Famed for its ability to mimic the human voice. African Greys can
acquire an extensive vocabulary and are able to repeat words with
such clarity that it is even possible to recognise the teacher.
Studies suggest that they have the intelligence of an average five
year old child and the emotional development of a two year old.
This makes them rewarding and demanding companion birds. They are
without doubt the most suitable pets of all the parrot family.
Most imported African Greys were until recently destined to become
pets, many proved impossible to tame. Today hand reared babies can
be purchased from reputable breeders like 'JustGreys', all will
already be tame and some may even be starting to talk.
