Whilst African Greys do form a bond with their owner's the
bond does not appear to be as strong as that of Amazon Parrots.
Unlike Amazon Parrots bonding seems to be more dependant
on the hand that feeds it rather than an attraction towards
the opposite sex. The more people that feed and interact with
the baby the less likely it is to want to bond to just one
person.
When looking to purchase a baby African Grey be weary of
buying one that has been excessively mothered by its hand
rearer. A strong bond may have already been formed. Breaking
this bond could cause problems.
